HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - The holidays come with many traditions, such as big meals and spending time with family.
It’s also the time when many get packages on their porch with Christmas around the corner.
The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office is reminding you about the growing problem of porch pirates throughout the country.
Those are people that see packages left at your door, then simply go on your porch and take them before you ever get your hands on them.
Sergeant Burns says you should get delivery alerts set up, so you get a text message as soon as those boxes are delivered.
He says don’t leave any boxes on your porch for later in the day.
You should get them in as soon as possible.
