WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — An 18-year-old Winston-Salem Street School student faces charges after police say he brought a stolen gun to school on the morning of Nov. 25.

According to the Winston-Salem Police Department, staff at the Winston-Salem Street School reported a safety concern about a student's belongings.

School security searched the student's items and allegedly found a gun.

Charles Michael Greene was arrested and later charged with:

Carrying a concealed gun

Possession of a gun on educational property

Possession of a stolen gun

Greene received a $15,000 bond after appearing before a magistrate. Police say they're continuing to investigate. They believe there's no ongoing threat to the school.
