OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - An ATM theft occurred at a west Omaha bank Tuesday morning, prompting a police investigation that closed the location to customers for several hours.
Omaha police responded to the First Interstate Bank at 180th and Q just before noon.
Officers and the department’s forensics unit investigated the scene throughout the afternoon.
Police confirmed a theft took place and said those responsible got away with an undisclosed amount of cash. Authorities have not released a suspect description or information about how the suspects fled the scene.
The bank closed to customers while police conducted their investigation. People at nearby businesses said they were shocked by the incident.
OPD continue to investigate the theft.
