SPRINGFIELD — Two men and a woman have died in what is suspected to be a double homicide-suicide Tuesday near the Bay and Pine Point neighborhoods, sources said.

Police remain at the scene of the crime, which took place in a single-family house at 1448 State St. near Ionia Street and the now-vacant Vibra Hospital property.

Officers responding to a call of a stabbing victim found the three adults dead in the home at about 9:50 a.m., said Ryan Walsh, police spokesman.

“There is no ongoing threat to the public,” Walsh said.

Sources said the three people were roommates. Two people were stabbed to death and a third died by a hanging.
