A teen shot his ex-girlfriend to death before turning the gun on himself inside a Nesconset home on Wednesday, Nov. 26, at approximately 11:10 a.m., Suffolk County Police said.
Emily Finn, 18, of West Sayville, was found dead inside the residence on Shenandoah Boulevard North after the 17-year-old male allegedly shot her during an encounter at his family’s home, according to the release.
The teen then shot himself in the face, and his parents called 911, police said. He was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital in critical but stable condition.
Police said he will be charged with felony Murder 2nd Degree and arraigned at a later date.
Emily Finn was a freshman at State University of New York (SUNY) in Oneonta, where she was studying Childhood/Elementary Education with a minor in Dance after graduating Cherry Avenue School in 2024, according to her social media.
She was previously a student at American Ballet Studio.
