CHAPIN, S.C. (WIS) - Chapin Town Council called its second special-called meeting within a week on Tuesday.

The meeting also comes days after the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division opened an investigation surrounding newly elected mayor Bill Mitchell .

The agenda did not specify what exactly would be discussed during the meeting, only that the council would be in executive session.

WIS is at Tuesday’s meeting and will provide more updates as soon as they’re available.

LATEST ON SLED INVESTIGATION

A SLED spokesperson said that they were asked by the Chapin Police Department to investigate an alleged Nov. 7 assault at Chapin Town Hall involving Mitchell.
