CARLYSS, La. (KPLC) - A house in Carlyss has been ruled a total loss after a fire broke out this morning.

Around 11:30 a.m., the Carlyss Fire Department requested help from the Houston River Fire Department to put out a house fire. Four other fire departments (Sulphur, Westlake, Lake Charles, and Ward 6 Fire) also assisted.

Officials said that despite a total of six agencies working to put out the blaze, the home was deemed a total loss.

All of the home’s residents and animals were able to evacuate safely, and no injuries were reported, Houston River Fire said.

Houston River Fire said its crew cleared the scene at 4:00 p.m.
