LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - Make sure to grab the jackets and coats as you head out the door this morning as we are seeing temperatures in the upper 30s to lower 40s.

We’ll see more sunshine on the way through the afternoon as winds remain out of the northeast, which will drive in cooler and drier air.

High temperatures will remain closer to average as we are back into the upper 60s, so you may want to have a light jacket throughout the day.

Skies remain mostly clear overnight and winds will relax enough that it will mean temperatures into the upper 30s to near 40.

Some patchy frost will be possible for areas inland to start the day, so you may want to bring in the more sensitive plants and even pets to help them stay warm.
