NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — South Carolina’s Department of Revenue has officially suspended any alcohol sales at a North Charleston nightclub that has allegedly brought violence and concerns to the community.
Located on Rivers Avenue, Aqua Lounge and Nightclub has been the location for two shootings within the last six months.
The state agency first suspended the bar’s liquor license on Nov. 14 but held an emergency suspension hearing on Monday to allow the business owner a chance to challenge the decision.
Aqua Lounge’s owner, Lorenzo Brown, did not appear at the hearing and told the court he closed the business’s doors a few weeks ago.
