GALLUP, N.M. —
A direction of Interstate 40 was closed after a crash in western New Mexico. The areas has since reopened.

Both eastbound lanes were closed about 17 miles east of Gallup, from the Ciniza Refinery Interchange at mile marker 39 to mile marker 43, according to the NMRoads website.
A New Mexico Department of Transportation showed significant back up just before 4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 25.
The public was being asked to be on the look out for emergency responders. Drivers were asked to use caution and reduce speed in the area. It is unknown how many vehicles or people are involved.
