COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Tuesday, Nov. 25, is one of the busiest travel days of the year and troopers with the SC highway patrol want to prioritize safety.

Troopers say with the anticipated increase in traffic, drivers in the state can expect to see greater law enforcement presence on the road throughout the holiday traffic period.

SC Troopers also want to remind drivers of the state’s new hands-free law which prohibits drivers from using cell phones while driving.

According to Highway Patrol, last year there were more than 1400 crashes during the Thanksgiving travel period including four deaths.
