STATE COLLEGE, Pa. — Three years ago, Schuylkill County native, Mason Reber, decided to try out for something he never could have imagined doing.

After auditioning in front of a panel of judges, preparing a skit and passing a physical fitness test that included performing 50 one-armed pushups - Reber was given the costume.

“I grew up coming to Penn State games, and I would always see the Nittany Lion, and it was like a superhero in a sense, especially as a kid," said Reber.

Reber fondly remembers a Penn State women's lacrosse game being the first event he attended as the Nittany Lion in 2022.

Since then, he's found the time to balance his Civil Engineering schedule with weekly practice, travel, and performing at not just athletic events, but many other events around campus.
