NAPOLEONVILLE, La. (WAFB) - A man behind bars in Assumption Parish is facing a new charge after being accused of rape.
Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon said Gage Austin Gros, 29, is facing the additional charge of second-degree rape of a child under 16 years old.
The charge stems from an incident that allegedly happened in Paincourtville in March 2014. Deputies reportedly began investigating after receiving a tip from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office in Texas.
According to the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office, Gros was already in jail, being held without bond for a first-degree rape charge in Assumption Parish, when he was booked on the latest charge.
Officials said Gros remains incarcerated at the Assumption Parish Detention Center with a bond set at $1 million for the
