EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The East Providence School District and City of Providence celebrated the ribbon cutting of the new Martin Middle School Tuesday.
The new state-of-the-art school, located next to the old school on Brown Street, is 164,000 square feet and will serve students in grades six to eight.
According to a spokesperson for the City of East Providence, the three-story building features 34 modern classrooms with interactive technology, collaborative learning spaces, six state-of-the-art science classrooms, a media center, and art classrooms.
The collaborative learning spaces will include computer science and technology classrooms to “provide students the opportunity to learn coding, robotics, and digital media,” the spokesperson said.
