Dare County asks NC legislators to take action on coastal erosion, vulnerable oceanfront homes

Dare County has now officially joined the growing chorus of voices asking legislators—on the state and federal levels—to take action to address the issue of coastal erosion and collapsing and vulnerable oceanfront homes.
In the wake of the collapse of 15 homes on the Cape Hatteras National Seashore since Sept. 30, that chorus includes, among others, Governor Josh Stein, NC Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey, U.S. Congressman Greg Murphy and the Buxton Civic Association.
On Thursday, Nov. 20, Dare County released a letter sent by Dare County Commissioner Chair Bob Woodard last week to every member of the NC General Assembly.
