ST PAUL, Minn. — A chaotic scene grew in St. Paul's Phalen-Payne neighborhood Tuesday morning as people heard federal agents were conducting an operation at a home.
Chemical irritants were used against people in the crowd, video and images show. KARE 11 cameras captured an activist being taken to the ground and arrested.
The incident on the east side of St. Paul stemmed from federal agents carrying out an investigation inside a home. With tensions heightened by last week's ICE raid at a St. Paul business, demonstrators confronted federal agents, as well as St. Paul Police.
Photojournalist David Peterlinz said it appeared the officers spraying the chemical irritants were members of the St. Paul Police Department, and was told they did so because there was reportedly a medical emergency
