WOODBURY, Minn. — It's a reminder we hear every holiday season – buckle up, phone down, and don't drive impaired.
For one Woodbury Police officer, that message is personal this year.
"Don't create those unknowns for other people, because I don't know what my future is," said Allan Olson, an officer with the Woodbury Police Department.
In August, Olson and his son, Jacob, were on a family vacation in Itasca County.
"A week of four-wheeling and fishing at a buddy's cabin," he said.
Olson says the pair were on a four-wheeler and had just turned onto a dirt road that he says is still considered the four-wheeling trail.
"As we were going on this roadway, there was a truck coming the other way," Olson said. "Jacob took the four-wheeler and pulled over to the grass area."
