AUSTIN, Texas — A man has been arrested after a SWAT call in northeast Austin on Tuesday evening.

According to the Austin Police Department, officers were conducting surveillance on a man with multiple felony warrants.

Police said the man entered a residence in the 7500 block of Compass Drive, near Johnny Morris Road and Loyola Lane. Officers approached and tried to make contact with the man but got no response, APD said.

Around 6 p.m., the SWAT team was called to the scene. Flash bangs were used as a distraction device to help get the man to come out.

Police said the man surrendered just after 8 p.m. and was arrested. No one was injured during the incident.

There is no ongoing threat to the public, APD said.
