Three people have been arrested in connection with an August fatal stabbing at John Champion Park in Reno, police said Tuesday, Nov. 25.

Lucky Vaavale, 25, and Joshua Peaslee, 40, were arrested on suspicion of open murder with a deadly weapon. Jerry Ruch, 53, who was already in custody at the Washoe County jail, was additionally booked on the same charge.

Officers responded to the park at 957 Kuenzli St. around 10:50 p.m. on Aug. 9 and found a man with stab wounds. He was taken to a local hospital, where he died.

Authorities have not identified the man who died.
