COLUMBIA — Boone County residents can anticipate in increase in taxes if a charter school is established in the county.
In October, the Missouri Charter Public School Commission greenlit Job Point's initial proposal to establish a charter school in Boone County, allowing the Columbia-based organization to move forward in creating a full application. Kansas City-based Frontier Schools is also looking to establish a charter school in Boone County, the Missouri Charter Public School Association announced Monday.
Job Point, a Columbia employment center, is working on completing its application for the Missouri Charter Public School Commission by January 2026, Job Point President and CEO John Scalise said in mid-October.
