COLLEGE STATION, Texas — Texas A&M quarterback Marcel Reed was named a finalist for the Davey O’Brien National Quarterback Award, the organization announced Tuesday, becoming just the second Aggie in program history to earn the honor.
Reed has powered the No. 11 Aggies to an 11-0 start — their best since 1992 — and the program’s first 7-0 opening in SEC play. The redshirt sophomore has produced 48 plays of 20 yards or more, including 43 through the air, while accounting for 31 total touchdowns. His 25 passing touchdowns are tied for eighth nationally and rank second in the SEC.
