PIERRE, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - The holiday season kicked off in Pierre on Tuesday night, as the annual Christmas at the Capitol lighting ceremony returned to the Capitol Rotunda.

Nearly 100 decorated trees were lit up for the season while musicians and local choirs performed festive pieces at the celebration.

A live stream of the Capitol Rotunda Christmas trees will be available throughout the season on SDPB.org and the SDPB YouTube page .
