MOUNTAIN VIEW (HawaiiNewsNow) - The suspect in Tuesday’s deadly shooting at a convenience store in Mountain View has been charged.
On Wednesday, Joseph Davis, 40, was charged with second-degree murder, use of firearm in commission of a felony, and place to keep ammunition.
Hawaii Island patrol officers were called to the parking lot of the Mountain View Mini Mart shortly after 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Callers reported a man was shot multiple times, and the suspect was still at the scene and in possession of the firearm, police said.
Hawaii News Now spoke to an anonymous witness who was at the store when it happened.
“What we saw was the guy come up and we heard the boom, and then we came back and there was some guy laying out on the ground, and he had his hands up,” he said.
