AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Crown Her Mentoring held its Queens Giveback Night, providing food for families in need just days before Thanksgiving.

The nonprofit, which mentors young women in the community, organized the event, with many of its mentees planning the food distribution.

The group set up a food station where families could select items they wanted.

“We wanted to make sure that we were a pillar in the community, a resource for people to come to, to be able to make sure that Thanksgiving does happen,” said Torrecka Davis, president of Crown Her Mentoring. “November is the month forward being thankful. And so we’re just thankful for the community that we serve, and we know if you give to the community, the community will give back to you.”
