PHOENIX — Hundreds of people were arrested at Tempe Tavern on Thursday night, according to officials with the Tempe Police Department.
249 people were arrested for underage drinking, fake IDs and giving false information, police said.
"These are shocking numbers. We don’t celebrate them. Underage drinking puts people at risk - and that’s why we take it seriously," a post by the police department said.
Officials said around 57 officers responded to the establishment on Thursday night after numerous complaints detailing underage drinking at the bar. Out of the 249 arrests, 246 were cited and released and three were booked into the Tempe City Jail, officials said.
This comes after 174 individuals were arrested in April at Tempe Tavern for the same violations.
