MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - Lawmakers are demanding answers from the Wisconsin Department of Corrections after Morgan Geyser, the woman involved in the Slender Man stabbing, went missing from a group home in Madison .
Republicans state Sen. Eric Wimberger and state Rep. Robert Wittke sent a letter to the Wisconsin Department of Corrections on Tuesday questioning the response to Geyser’s escape.
“The number one job that we have as legislators is to keep our citizens safe and to do whatever we can to keep them safe,” said state Rep. Robert Wittke, R-Caledonia.
The letter highlights how it took nearly 12 hours to notify local police that Geyser had cut off her monitoring device and left her group home.
