HANSON, Mass. —
A school community expressed outrage once again after embattled Whitman-Hansen schools superintendent Jeff Szymaniak was a no-show at Tuesday night’s school committee meeting.
“If you cannot stand here and listen to what your community, and our students, say, you need to resign. Enough,” said parent Jennifer Roback.
“We all know you have about 30 more administrators than you need in this district.”
Days after 23 staff members, including teachers, para professionals and guidance counselors, were laid off, amid a $1.1 million budget shortfall this year $1.4 million for next year.
Students walked out of class on Nov. 17 and carried out a protest in opposition to the layoffs.
