BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - Staff and volunteers at the Brazos Valley Food Bank work daily to process millions of pounds of food for their six-county service area.
Staff and volunteers work year-round to combat food insecurity.
“The food bank employs more than 30 paid staff and hundreds of volunteers to handle daily operations, said Ebony Knight-Tenell, who is the Operations Director at the Food Bank.
Knight said the work follows an all-day, every-day mentality with an endless cycle of keeping up with demand.
A typical day consists of receiving products, properly placing them in racks, putting together orders, invoicing partners, and loading trucks for dispatch into the community.
