The U.S. Postal Service has proposed new "competitive prices" for 2026, which include price hikes to its shipping services.

Earlier this month, the USPS announced it had filed a notice with the independent Postal Regulatory Commission (PRC) for price changes, which would take effect on Jan. 18.

Among the proposed changes are a 6.6% increase for Priority Mail service, a 5.1% increase for Priority Mail Express service, a 7.8% increase for USPS Ground Advantage and 6% increase for Parcel Select.

The new prices were adjusted "according to market conditions," according to the announcement.

Some of the USPS’s international shipping services will also see a price increase. Notably, the M-bag – sacks of printed 'matter' such as books or advertising material – sent to a single foreign addressee
