LITCHFIELD, CT. (WFSB) - A former Litchfield attorney convicted of manslaughter for shooting a man outside his law office is appealing his conviction and seeking early release from prison.

79-year-old Robert Fisher was found guilty this past spring of manslaughter charges for shooting and killing 39-year-old Matthew Bromley in June 2021. Fisher was sentenced in June to seven years in prison, suspended after 2½ years, meaning he is scheduled for release in December 2027.

Fisher was followed to his law firm in Litchfield and Bromley confronted him in the parking lot.

“Assaulting him, punching him, saying he was going to kill him, saying my dad ruined his life and this was going to be the end for my dad,” said Sarah Fisher, his daughter.
