PEORIA ( 25News Now ) - A man will spend decades in prison for the murder of 31-year-old Jamere Bew in rural Bloomington, according to the McLean County State’s Attorney’s office.
Circuit Judge William Yoder sentenced Justin Kletz, 26, to 70 years in prison for first-degree murder.
Authorities said Bew’s body was discovered in a ditch off Route 136, near McLean and Heyworth on Thanksgiving weekend of 2023.
After an investigation, authorities discovered that Bew had been beaten with a baseball bat, shot multiple times, and was strangled with a cord.
Earlier in the year, two other people were sentenced for their roles in the same murder. Gabrielle Stine was sentenced to 40 years, and Derek Siebring was sentenced to 65 years.
