TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - Aspiring veterinarians are flocking to the University of Arizona.
In just the fifth year of their program, the U of A’s College of Veterinary Medicine has become the third-most applied-to veterinary medicine programs in the nation, with around 2,500 future veterinarians hoping to get in.
The campus is nestled in Oro Valley, where about 300 vet students are currently enrolled at the school; only 100 students get in each year.
“Every year, we want to strive and have the best numbers that we can get,” said Kate Baringson, the U of A Director of Admissions and Recruitment. “So, having the top 3 has been very exciting for the program and for all the faculty and staff that work here.”
