NORFOLK, Va. — Norfolk State men’s basketball didn’t just win on Tuesday night — the Spartans rewrote their record book. NSU exploded for a new Division I era program record in points, rolling past Virginia University of Lynchburg 136-79 at Joe Echols Hall.
Sophomore forward Melo Baines was unstoppable, delivering a perfect shooting night at 15-of-15 from the field while posting a career-high 30 points, shattering his previous top mark by 14.
Anthony McComb III added a career-best 26 points, connecting on 9-of-14 shots and 4-of-7 from deep.
Elijah Jamison recorded NSU’s first double-double of the season with 17 points and 11 assists, while Devon Ellis (20 points) and Dian Wright-Forde (16 points) rounded out a balanced and explosive scoring attack.
