SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — Members of the Spokane Valley Community are urging Council Member Jessica Yeager to resign. This follows a recent post to her personal social media, speaking out against the religion of Islam.

Outside Spokane Valley City Hall Tuesday night, Executive Director for Muslims for Community Action and Support Karen Stromgren joined alongside several other community members rallying against Council member Yeager for a Facebook post made on her personal account on Thursday.

In it, she declared herself a "proud Islamophobe."

The organization Eastside Gladitors organized the rally in opposition to that post. Stromgren says it offends her as a proud Muslim and Spokane Valley resident of 27 years.
