It has been nearly four months since the legislature pow-wow at Lancaster County’s Nissley Vineyards, where a dozen members of the House Liquor Control Committee and representatives from the Pa. Liquor Control Board and the Department of Agriculture met for several hours to learn more about the wine community’s objections to the current licensing setup.
Bob Mazza, of Mazza Vineyards in Erie County, Zach Waltz, of Waltz Vineyards Estate Winery in Lancaster County, and Jonas Nissley, that winery’s president and general manager, welcomed the group on July 28 for a session that included a tour and then an outdoor sit-down meeting in which Mazza handed out a list of talking points before spending around a half-hour walking the legislators through the list.
