YAKIMA, Wash. – The results from the 2025 general election have now been certified, and several key races have been closely followed across central Washington.

In Yakima, the city's levy lid lift, which aimed to balance the budget, did not pass. A narrow majority of 51% voted against it.

Yakima County's measure to gauge public opinion on maintaining a complete ban on cannabis production and retail sales within unincorporated areas saw 55% of voters supporting the continuation of the ban.

In the Yakima County coroner race, Marshall Slight emerged victorious, securing 70% of the vote.

In Franklin County, the levy lid lift for Fire District One, which proposed increasing the levy to 85 cents per $1,000 of assessed property value, was approved.
