This isn’t the season the Detroit Lions had in mind.

Few predicted the early retirement of Frank Ragnow before the season. No one planned for them to demote their offensive coordinator midway through.

And certainly no one would have guessed that, with six games left, the two-time defending NFC North champions would be third in that division, barely in control of their own destiny and facing a crucial Thanksgiving game against the Green Bay Packers that could play a large part in determining their playoff fate.
