A 43-year-old Kurtistown man accused of causing a head-on collision late last month on the Daniel K. Inouye Highway that killed a 47-year-old Kailua-Kona woman and her infant granddaughter pleaded not guilty Tuesday to charges connected with the crash.
Kimo K. Medeiros is charged with two counts each of manslaughter, first-degree negligent homicide and third-degree promotion of a dangerous drug; three counts of first-degree negligent injury; plus reckless driving, driving under the influence of drugs, marijuana possession and driving without a license.
Medeiros was arraigned via video Tuesday from Oahu Community Correctional Center by Third Circuit Chief Judge Wendy DeWeese in Kona Circuit Court.
DeWeese ordered Medeiros to appear for further proceedings at 8:30 a.m. March 12 before Hil
