Over a century ago, one man’s compassion began a movement that still changes lives today. George E. Palmer couldn’t bear to see children in Lansing go without proper shoes, so he quietly used his own paycheck to buy them boots. He didn’t do it for recognition - he did it because he cared. From that simple act of kindness, the Greater Lansing Old Newsboys Association was born.
More than 100 years later, that same spirit of giving continues to guide us. Every pair of shoes, every bright smile, every small step forward represents the collective care of a community that believes no child should go without. Because of the generosity of our members, donors, volunteers, and friends, thousands of children across Greater Lansing walk into school each year with confidence, warmth, and dignity.
