As Arizona residents drive into the holiday travel season, a new SmartAsset study shows gas prices in the state have seen one of the steepest increases in the U.S., growing 4.2% year over year. Among the study’s key findings:

Arizona ranks No. 5 for the overall increase in the average price per gallon of gas.

The average price of gasoline in Arizona now sits at $3.35 per gallon.

In Colorado, by contrast, gas prices dropped 8.7%, the sharpest decline nationwide.

SmartAsset ranked 50 states based on the one-year change in gas prices as of November 25th 2025, as well as the current average statewide price for a regular gallon.
