BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — Students at a Warren County Elementary did something pretty cool to help feed hungry people in their community; they collected thousands of boxes of cereal.
The school partnered with Guarantee Pest Control, which collects cereal for local food pantries in November.
India Blankenship, an employee for Guarantee Pest Control, said, “The kids actually collected all the cereal here today.”
Kids at T.C. Cherry Elementary collected about 3,400 boxes.
Ana Bolin, a special education teacher at T.C. Cherry Elementary School, said, “Which is great, we’re the smallest school in the district.”
Jaedyn Strickland, a fifth grader at school, collected 385 boxes. According to Strickland, she did it to “help people in need.”
