CHARLESTON — The Powder Magazine recently reopened for half days on Fridays and Saturdays, but the city is evaluating a partnership that would open the doors full-time ahead of next year’s 250th American Revolution anniversary.
The Powder Magazine has been owned and managed by the nonprofit National Society of the Colonial Dames of America in the State of South Carolina since 1902, when the organization purchased the relic site for $1,000. The decision to pause daily admission in February came down to finances, according to the organization.
