Clinton Township taxpayers likely will be on the hook for a nearly $600,000 shortfall in the 41B District Court’s bond payments that financed the court’s construction.

That was the message recently from township officials in approving the court’s $4.6 million operating budget for 2026.

Judge Sebastian Lucido recently went before the Clinton Township Board of Trustees to present the budget along with the sobering news on the court’s finances, which were once flush with cash but have been dropping steadily since the start of the COVID-19 crisis.
