Two pedestrians who were struck by a vehicle in the Capital Region have died from their injuries, New York State Police announced Tuesday night, Nov. 25.
The crash happened earlier Tuesday at around 5:18 p.m. in Saratoga County in the area of Charlton Road near Maple Avenue in the town of Charlton, as Daily Voice previously reported.
Troopers responded after receiving reports that a vehicle had hit two pedestrians.
Both victims suffered severe injuries and were transported to local hospitals, where they later succumbed to their injuries, State Police said in an update released at 8:40 p.m.
Investigators said the driver remained at the scene and has been cooperative with the ongoing investigation.
Charlton Road was closed for several hours between Stage Road and Swaggertown Road as collision reconstruction teams worked the scene. The roadway has since reopened.
The names of the victims have not yet been made public.
