Millions of workers across the UK are set to receive a pay boost next year after the Government confirmed an increase to minimum wage rates. Chancellor Rachel Reeves has backed recommendations from the Low Pay Commission, ensuring those on lower incomes are "properly rewarded" for their efforts.

From April, the National Living Wage will climb by 4.1% to £12.71 per hour for eligible workers aged 21 and above. The Government estimates this will add £900 to the gross annual earnings of a full-time worker on the rate, benefiting approximately 2.4 million low-paid workers across the country.

Meanwhile, the National Minimum Wage for 18 to 20 year olds will see a more substantial jump of 8.5% to £10.85 per hour, closing the gap with the National Living Wage.
