To the editor,

Recognition needs to be given to the Grand Forks Public Works Department for the excellent job that department does in serving our community.

With the recent fall leaf collection complete, I have been bragging to family and friends in other cities about this fine service that is provided by our city. We are indeed lucky not to have to haul all of the leaves away ourselves or to actually pay for leaf disposal bags that some other cities require.

In addition to this service, the weekly summer grass clipping pick-up, the spring and summer mosquito control, the winter snow removal and the spring cleanup are just a few more of the reasons we are blessed in Grand Forks with the amenities that make our lives easier in Grand Forks.

Great job, Grand Forks Public Works Department!
