PIKE CO., Ind. (WFIE) - Indiana State Police officials say a woman is in jail after driving while impaired with four children in the vehicle.

According to a police report, state troopers stopped a driver traveling on State Road 61 near County Road 400 South for not having a license plate light.

While talking with the driver, later identified as Lerie Ridenour, troopers could smell alcohol inside the vehicle.

They also noticed four children ranging from ages 9 to 12 years old in the vehicle.

Officials say three of the children were not Lerie’s.

During an investigation, it was discovered that she was under the influence of alcohol.

All the children were released to their parents.

Ridenour was arrested and transported to the Pike County Jail.

She faces the following charges:
