CLEARWATER, Fla. — Four men who went missing during a fishing trip were found alive after staying atop their capsized boat for about 20 hours, according to Clearwater police.
One of the fishermen, 70-year-old Dennis Woods, described the hours-long fight to stay afloat as their vessel started to take on water and overturn.
"The water filled up on one side of the catamaran, and it made the back of the motorboat go down low," Woods said. "It was probably less than five minutes before it rolled, and I didn't have time to contact the Coast Guard. We were more worried about getting the life jacket on the 90-year-old and the 18-year-old. The one that I was gonna wear got hung up — I had to just leave it."
Dennis, along with Clarence Woods, 90; Cris Harding Sr., 42; and Cris Harding Jr., 18,
