FHP said in a release that the crash happened just before 10 p.m. when a 33-year-old Live Oak man driving a Dodge Ram was going westbound on US-90, while the 76-year-old woman was driving eastbound in KIA Sorento with the two girls, ages six and eight.
Troopers say the Dodge driver crossed the center line of US-90 and began driving westbound in the eastbound lane before he hit the front of the woman's vehicle, causing it to overturn on the driver's side.
The man was then ejected from his truck and was pinned under its left rear tire.
