MEIGS COUNTY — A Decatur man has been indicted in connection to a homicide that took place in July.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) joined the Meigs County Sheriff’s Office to investigate the shooting death of Jason Paul Burnette on Peakland Road in Decatur.
Chad Mitchell Lankford was identified as the person responsible for Burnette’s death.
Lankford was indicted and charged with one count of First Degree Murder on November 24.
Lankford was arrested and taken to the Meigs County Jail on November 25.
He has a $1 million bond.
